Divine Frequency started out life as a Doom total conversion mod, and apparently, had quite the collection of fans.
Mixing in some sprites from Blood and similar, the original mod made for some interesting and horrifying experiences for some. Sadly, I missed that whole phase, but did have the opportunity to try out this version, the full stand-alone game of Divine Frequency.
Still running of the GZDoom Engine mind you; we’re in for a quiet unique, dark, slightly disturbing horror experience with this one.
I've always been a really huge fan of horror games. It felt like when I was a kid, the only games that could actually give me a thrill were horror games. Honestly, I haven't experienced anything like the Divine Frequency in a very long time.
The sense of horror and dread of the darkness was unlike anything I’ve felt in an FPS in ages. The pressure of the beyond, in the shadows just beyond the aura of your light, is immensive, and constant.
In this video, I want to share my first impressions of the game, what I really enjoyed, and what I'm hoping for its final release:
I had an excellent time with Divine Frequency; its atmosphere and pacing alone, are worth a look and your time.
The demo is live right now; got wishlist and check it out.
Was really intrigued by this game. Artwork top notch, and the frights-per-second factor was quality.
